Named after the first European explorer to sight New Zealand and anchor near Golden Bay, Abel Tasman is a national park located between Golden Bay and Tasman Bay, on the north end of New Zealand’s South Island.

The park is a popular destination for trampers, with a track leading along the coastline, and is listed by the Department of Conservation as one of their Great Walks. Abel Tasman is also a popular destination for camping, kayaking and other activities.
